Grace's Fund - Help us to raise money for Grace's treatment

The Grace O’Gorman Trust

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As you may be aware our daughter, Grace Helen O'Gorman, (born 6th April 2006) was recently diagnosed with a very rare and severe form of childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma.

Help us to raise money for Graces treatment We were initially given a 20% chance of her surviving at five years due to the extensive nature of her cancer. However, we were also given some hope by our Consultant that a new treatment, called anti-GD2 antibody, could increase her chances of survival quite dramatically.

We learned that this was only available at one centre in the world, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre (MSKCC), New York. In order to give Grace the best chance of benefiting from the treatment it was necessary for her to go to New York as soon as possible and therefore have surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy performed at MSKCC. For this reason, as a Family, we moved to New York in January 2008.

The overall treatment is costly and the final bill will likely be over $800,000. We are doing everything possible to pay for the treatment and any help would be greatly appreciated.

To this end friends and colleagues have set up a Trust fund to raise and administer additional funds to help cover Grace’s medical bills.

Grace's Fund The Trust fund has a legal charter which has been put in place by Mr. Barry O’Meara, the Trust’s legal representative in Cork, Ireland. All monies raised will go directly to cover medical bills. We are very fortunate to have three well-known individuals who have kindly agreed to be trustees of the Fund.
